Auto-load file when switching to Single View mode?
Forums:
Currently, when switching from Grid view to Single image view, most image adjustment/display functions are not accessible until the current file is manually reloaded (exposure, contrast, white balance, focus peaking, shadow boost, highlight inspection, etc.).
Is there a way to automatically load the image when switching to Single image view so that these functions are available without additional manual steps?
Thank you.
Details
- FastRawViewer: 2.0.9 (build 2038)
- OS: MacOS 15.3.1

Sorry, unable to reproduce the issue (Mac, 15.3, FastRawViewer 2.0.9):
Please provide additional details (e.g. screncast). Perhaps the forum is not very convenient for this, use support@fastrawviewer.com email in this case.

Hi, here are some screenshots
Hi, here are some screenshots that hopefully illustrate the issue more clearly:

Full Gallery
1. Image selected in Grid view
2. Initial state when image loaded in Single image view.
Image display/adjustment controls in bottom bar are not enabled or accessible (Exposure, Contrast, White Balance, Focus peaking, etc.).
Corresponding functions in menus are also greyed out/disabled.
3. State after manually reloading image (e.g. via File>Reload image or keyboard shortcut).
Image display/adjustment controls in bottom bar now enabled.
Corresponding menu options are also now enabled.
Per my initial question, is there a way to load the image automatically so that the image adjustment/display functions are available immediately, without requiring additional manual steps?
Please let me know if you require any further details or clarification.
Thank you.

Thank you for the screenshots
Thank you for the screenshots. Tried to do the same: all information panels closed, single image in folder, switch to single mode via both 'G' hotkey and double click. No luck: image IS loaded as expected, all controls are enabled.
Could you please clarify how do you switch to single image view mode? Maybe some method we forgot about really doesn't work.
And another/second question: what is your Preferences - File formats - Default image to display setting? Is there any chance it set to 'Internal JPEG'?
Also: could you please enable either Histogram Panel or Bottom Bar's 'RAW/JPEG switch button' to see what image is displayed when you go from Grid to Single view? This is not clear from your screenshots.

These are the ways I have
These are the ways I have tested switching from Grid view to Single view:
In all cases, the behavior is as shown in the previous screenshots.

Preferences->File Formats->Default image to display: RAW
Here is a screenshot with the Raw Histogram displayed and the Raw indicator in the bottom bar:
Please note that the setup in the screenshots (panels hidden, single image, etc.) is to simplify things as much as possible for demonstrating the issue. The behavior when switching from Grid view to Single view is the same as in the screenshots when all panels are shown and browsing a folder with multiple images.

Quick update: After some
Quick update: After some digging through the settings, I found that the setting for Preferences/Interface/Grid View/RAW processing in Grid mode affects file loading when switching between Grid view and Single view.
The manual does not appear to mention anything about this difference in behavior regarding this setting, but I have set it to "Partial" in the meantime so that file loading is automatic when switching to Single view.
