In single file view mode the in-focus file is the file which is displayed in the main window. This file will be the target of the operation.
If you have enabled "Single file keys works for multiple..." in Preferences – Interface – Grid/Filmstrip and "Selected group" in the drop-down below, you can press G to go to the Grid mode and use the shortcut to move all selected files to "rejected" folder.
