FastRawViewer does not set any 'default' handlers for file extensions. On install it is added to file extension (type) 'Open with' menu and will be set as a default program only if
FRV is the only open-with program for given extension
or user checks 'always use this program' in program selection popup (in Windows 10; older versions may have different behavior like remembering last user choice).
Depending on WIndows version you use, Program - File Extensions associations are tunable via different methods:
Windows 10:
PC Settings - Apps - Default apps - choose by file type -
Or Explorer - right click on file - Open with - choose another app
Windows 7-8:
Control Panel - Default programs - Associate default type
Or right click method in Explorer
Using this methods you can reassign (or un-assign) default program for file types (extensions) you use.
Also, you may call Control-Panel style windows control via FastRawViewer - Preferences - Other - Manage file associations and de-assign needed extensions from FastRawViewer
