Reload doesn't refresh image

Forums:

For as long as I've used FRV the reload function never actually reloads sidecar JPEGs that I have overwritten after converting the RAW file. My workflow is often this:
- have JPEG and RAW files shown as separate files in settings
- Browse folder of RAW and JPEG files
- Open the RAW file in Photoshop and convert it. Save the result as JPEG overtop the sidecar JPEG
- Delete the RAW file
I just want to check the newer JPEG sometimes but nothing works to get it to actually refresh the file, display or thumb.

Use Preferences - Performance - Flush decoded RAW/JPEG caches on folder refresh option if you want to clean pre-fetched files caches on folder reload.

that didn't resolve it. If I refresh the image it doesn't change even with the new settings and a relaunch

Do you talk about single image view (one image in main program screen) or about thumbnail(s view)?

single image view. That never changes

Could you please:

1) Preferences - Other

  Debug log messages - All

Save Debug log to file - Yes, remove on quit (to not waste disk space with giant logs)

2) Close FRV and start it again

3) Reproduce the problem (i.e. open JPEG file; edit it outside; Menu - File - Reload - Reload current folder), ensure that file is not updated

4) Menu - Help - Show debug log in Explorer (Mac: Reveal in Finder), e-mail the log to support@fastrawviewer.com

Note: Menu - File - Reload - Reload current file does not flush internal caches, only Reload current folder does.

I have the same issue on a Windows 10 PC, with JPEGs.
I edit them in Photoshop, but Fast Raw Viewer doesn't refresh it on single image view.
Did you find any soution yet?

Do you checked the Preferences - Performance - (other section) - Flush decoded raw/jpeg cache... checbox?

If checked,  Menu - File - Reload - Reload current folder will flush decoded files caches, so edited JPEG will be re-read from disk
