Manage File Associations button doing nothing

Sorry for the many postings, but i want to make sure everything is clear before i commit and pay for this software.
 
In the settings, Other -> Manage file associations, when i click on the button, nothing happens. What can i do?

Windows 10/11 may (!) decline old Windows-7 compatible way of managing file associations (this depens on system settings).

If so: use  Default Programs (available multiple ways, for example via Windows Settings - Apps - Default apps)
