How to (not!) sorting file lists?
Forums:
File lists created by an external program apparently are always sorted according to the parameters in the filter&sort panel.
How can I avoid/switch off any sorting of file lists - since the entries (with full path names) already are sorted by certain criteria?
(I want the images just displayed in exact the same sequence as they appear in the file list.)
Thank You

Thank you for your feedback!
Right now internal file sorting is unavoidable in FastRawViewer.
We'll consider such option for some future release.

Thank You for the very fast response!
I would really love to see a "Don't sort file list" feature in the near future.
I'm using FRV as a kind of plugin to a DAM to scrutinize my images.

It turned out to be faster
It turned out to be faster than I thought, here is new build for testing:
macOS (10.12-11.x): https://updates.fastrawviewer.com/data/beta/FastRawViewer-1.7.4.1720.dmg
Windows/64bit: https://updates.fastrawviewer.com/data/beta/FastRawViewer-1.7.4.1720-x64...
New checkbox has added: Preferences - Special browse modes - Sort opened filelists using current sort mode
By default it is on (checked), uncheck it to disable sorting when browsing filelists.
Also, another filelist-related setting has added: Grid/Filmstrip - Save associated JPEG/HEIC files to filelists.
If checked (default is not), JPEG siblings in RAW+JPEG mode are saved to filelists (on the same line, default delimiter is '|' symbol). On such filelist load RAW+JPEG pairs are united (or not) according to current RAW+JPEG/RAW+HEIC setting(s).
Your feedback is always welcome.

Perfect - 1720 shows the desired behaviour as far as file list (not)sorting is concerned, works like a charm, thank you!
Sorry you had to revert with 1721 which does not longer include the new option.
Hope it does make it to a future release soon.
Have a nice weekend.

Sorry, my fault (!). There is some mess in build numbers, so I've errorneously posted links to 1.8.0-1721 instead of 1.7.4-1721 (yes, build numbers SHOULD increment independed from version, but this rule has been broken).
Here are correct links:
mac: https://updates.fastrawviewer.com/data/beta/FastRawViewer-1.7.4.1721.dmg
windows: https://updates.fastrawviewer.com/data/beta/FastRawViewer-1.7.4.1721-x64...

Cool - this is fast!
Cool - this is fast!
1.7.4.1721 works perfectly - I love it!
(I already wondered because of 1.8.0.1721 because I already was on 1.8.0.1727 :-) Luckily one can install one version over the other independent of the numbering.)

Yes, 1.8.x branch is separate 'technical preview' with new performance features to be used in the next major update.
This branch has separate build number sequences that has intersects with 1.7.4 branch
