IPTC Metadata

Forgive me if there is already discussion on this. I haven't found a way to search the forums.
I would like to filter images by the IPTC metadata. Specifically, Keyword.
There's no reference in the user manual to "IPTC" but I see a menu item called "XMP/IPTC". Does anyone here know what this menu item does? It's greyed out on my machine so I can't try it myself.

FastRawViewer 'IPTC' support
FastRawViewer 'IPTC' support is limited to IPTC Title and Description tags recorded (and displayed) to XMP sidecar files.
There is no ability to filter by IPTC, or record/display another tags.
