XQD card

I'm planning on buying a Nikon D500. It takes XQD cards, which can apparently be plugged into the USB port of my Macbook Pro with an included cable. Can FRV read the raw files straight off an XQD card in this manner, just like off an SD card slotted directly into the laptop? Currently I read the raw files from the SD card fom my D7100, which I remove and slot into the laptop, and any I want to import into Lightroom I copy there using FRV, and would like to continue this workflow.

Dear Sir:

If the software / OS mounts a card as a volume (same as your current SD cards are mounted), shouldn't be any problem. I use Sony XQD ExpressCard adapter and Lexar USB 3.0 reader, they do work.
