Crushed highlights when previewing HEIC format
Forums:
When I try to preview HEIC images (.HIF from Sony Alpha 7CII) I get an image with crushed highilghts.
This is not what it's supposed to look like. Attached are comparisons of HEIC (doesn't matter 4:0:0 or 4:2:2) vs JPEG striaght out of camera in FastRawViewer and in Lightroom (highlights are correct this time).
I am using FastRawViewer 2.0.9 on Windows 11 with HDR enabled and Color management disabled. Enabling color management doesn't fix the issue for me.

HEIC images are (usually) HDR
HEIC images are (usually) HDR-ones. FRV does nothing special for HDR tone mapping, just normal color space conversion from HEIC colorspace to display colorspace. This may result to out-of-gamut cut.

How does Lightroom manage to
How does Lightroom manage to do this? Imported images look identical. Do you think that would be possible to achieve in FRV (for example allow for setting the same tone mapping curve)?

We assume that the file
We assume that the file contents are described by pixel values and file embedded profile (if there is no profile, the values in the file do not have a full meaning), the monitor is described by its color profile (presumably of good quality) and we are just doing a color conversion.
HDR mapping is beyond the scope of the viewer (targeted for culling)
